Morocco Riads are traditional Moroccan homes located inside old city districts that are several stories high and have an interior patio. Riads of Morocco are private houses that started to be restored in the late 70’s. These authentic homes were abandoned by rich Moroccan families a couple of centuries ago while moving to new cities.

Today, most Ryads in Morocco are used as private guest houses offering exceptional service in truly amazing buildings re-decorated and re-built in a traditional Moroccan authentic way.

Morocco Riyads are usually a few stores high, having the main ground floor with a patio and a fountain. The upper levels hold the suites all having great view to the lower patio “cloister type”. Marrakech Riads are located at the ancient part of the imperial cities and not in the new cities.

The old parts of the cities in Morocco are called Medinas and the newer districts are called “Ville Nouvelles” which were mainly built during the French Rule.
